Daniel Schwabaeur
Storytelling & Creative Writing
Follow in the footsteps of the world’s greatest storyteller!
Story is a language of emotion—like music. It operates by principles that strike at our shared humanity. That’s why it’s the main engine of the Bible. It's the core language God uses to speak truth across cultures and time.
As a student of this track, you’ll be immersed in the parables of Jesus and learn from them principles of storytelling that apply to stage plays, radio programs, novels, advertisements, and even picture books. Not only will you understand the stories of Jesus better, you’ll learn to adapt them for children. By working with the students in the artists track, you’ll see your work transformed into a print-ready picture book in less than a week. You’ll also apply these breakthrough insights together with other guild students as you write and produce hilarious and thought-provoking audio commercials!
Course Requirements: As this course will require a lot of writing in-class, please bring a laptop, notebook, writing utensils, and a Bible (you may use a Bible app if you so desire).

Not only will you build confidence and skill, you’ll learn to see and appreciate the subtleties and dynamics of God’s wonderful creation. This is a gift you’ll take with you wherever you go!
Culinary
Christina Patton
Reflecting Christ’s Hospitality: Breaking Bread at the Table
Breaking bread and showing unconditional love were commonly practiced by Jesus while he ministered on earth and as his followers we are to mirror his example. Understanding biblical hospitality as explained in Acts 2:46-47, “And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved,” is crucial in how we live out the gospel on a daily basis. This Culinary Arts course will equip you to prepare saporous foods while demonstrating the lavish love of Christ as you serve others. Prepare your heart for a transforming week with the best host of all, Jesus.
Voice and Stage Acting
Arise Collective Theatre
Storytelling is one of the most profoundly impactful ways to share the gospel and reveals the One in whom we were made in the image of. As artists, we have the privilege of revealing the nature and character of the heavenly Father, the ultimate creative and storyteller!
During this immersive week in the voice and stage acting track, you will:
Establish biblical philosophy for the arts (Colossians 2:8)
Discover your physical “instrument” through voice and movement
Explore performance technique with studio exercises
Rehearse and perform a multi-disciplinary performance alongside Arise Collective at the completion of the guild
This piece of original material designed by the Arise Collective team is based on the ministry of Jesus and will be performed at a theater stage on-location. Prepare to surrender audaciously, contend for your faith, be discipled in seeking the Kingdom, proclaim the goodness of the Father through acting, and fall deeper in love with the One who created your story.

Those who doubt they’re smart will not do as well in school and they won’t achieve what they could have. Everything changes when people believe in the generous creative intent of God to make them smart in 8 unique ways.”
